Michelle is a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor specializing in low impact, high burn workouts. The MichLWellness membership provides access to a library of on demand workout content, for all fitness levels. Members will also have access to live Zoom workouts

If you’re looking for something a little more personalized, virtual one-on-one personal training and private group fitness classes are also available. Take classes from the comfort of your own home, and get the individualized attention you need, or be part of something bigger and enjoy the energy of a group Zoom class.

NUTRITION

This pillar for me is about knowledge and discovery, not deprivation. Everyone is built differently, and once you find the foods that serve you, you’ll be able to achieve your health goals. Food should be whole, nutritious and delicious. The MichLWellness memberships come with tips and tricks, recipes and sample meal plans to help you with this pillar of your health journey. You also have full access to the MichLWellness blog with a full assortment of tools to get you started.

WELLNESS

It’s been shown, especially in recent years, how important it is to not only address your physical health, but your mental one as well. Health issues manifest in the body due to underlying stress and anxiety, and can cause a host of illnesses, aches and pains. These are harder to diagnose because most solutions involve prescribing a pill to treat the symptoms instead of digging deep to treat the cause.  The MichLWellness program provides guidance and activities to help focus your mind, and nurture your soul.

I offer health coaching services which are a 1:1 way to identify your goals, work through an action plan, and have the support you need along the way to achieving them. Health coaching services address both your primary health and your secondary health, in order to create the 365 MichLWellness approach. The hotel we’re staying at also happens to not have a gym on site, so the only option is a tiny in room workout. The last few days have been a little surreal. It’s been the most “normal” I’ve felt in the last 2 years. I’m using this trip to set the tone for my new normal.

I’ve been really struggling to figure out what that looks like for me, which has been causing a lot of built up stress & anxiety in my system. I’ve always thought I managed it well, turns out not so much.

That’s why the last few days have been so important. It’s given me an opportunity to figure out what can work, in a way that doesn’t provoke any of the stress or fear.

We’re all trying to figure out what this looks like for us now, not just in where we go, but who we see, how frequently we see them, what we do and who were doing it with.

Here are 10 tips to help ease the holiday pressure:

🎄 Holiday meals are meant to be enjoyed. Don’t go into the season saying you’ll eat today and work it off tomorrow.

🎄 Eat the dessert. If there’s something calling to you, just go for it.

🎄 Don’t overdo it on holiday gifting. It’s not about how much you spend, it’s about being thoughtful.

✨ Fitness shouldn’t be torture, it should be fun & rewarding. If you’re doing something you dread each time, it’s time to start looking into something new.
✨ Food should be a source of joy. Cooking & eating shouldn’t be cause for stress. Our choices should make us feel good, nourished & satisfied.
✨ Our activities, actions, decisions should spark joy. When the choices were making or the people were seeing cause negative emotions, it’s time to reevaluate and let go.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever compared yourself to someone else’s life, specifically someone you follow on social.

That’s me times 3 lately. The truth? I’ve been super down on myself for not being where I want to be in this crazy world of social media & business, and watching everyone’s success stories has made that struggle even more real.

I know I’m not alone. It’s so easy to get sucked into a rabbit hole of perfect aesthetic, exciting lives and thriving careers. I am working on reminding myself of a few things though, to get myself out of this massive funk.

✨ IG does not equal reality. It’s a snapshot of all the good things people have going on. The stories & photos showcase the best highlights of people’s lives, not the garbage, pain level struggles.
✨ You rarely see the blood sweat and tears happening behind the scenes. People’s lives that look so “easy” usual come with plenty of struggle.
✨ Everyone’s story is unique. Someone else’s time to shine is their time, your time will come too. Just because that time isn’t now, doesn’t mean it will be never.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever compared yourself to someone else’s life, specifically someone you follow on social. 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️ That’s me times 3 lately. The truth? I’ve been super down on myself for not being where I want to be in this crazy world of social media & business, and watching everyone’s success stories has made that struggle even more real. I know I’m not alone. It’s so easy to get sucked into a rabbit hole of perfect aesthetic, exciting lives and thriving careers. I am working on reminding myself of a few things though, to get myself out of this massive funk. ✨ IG does not equal reality. It’s a snapshot of all the good things people have going on. The stories & photos showcase the best highlights of people’s lives, not the garbage, pain level struggles. ✨ You rarely see the blood sweat and tears happening behind the scenes. People’s lives that look so “easy” usual come with plenty of struggle. ✨ Everyone’s story is unique. Someone else’s time to shine is their time, your time will come too. Friendly reminders today as we wrap up another month and head into the final one of 2021.

December doesn’t have to be feast & famine. Eat to enjoy yourself, workout because you feel like it, don’t workout so that you can eat.

Everyone’s year looked VERY different. Progress over perfection. Don’t head into this last month focused on what could have been.

Give yourself a BREAK. The holidays are stressful, and this year there is more “normal” happening. Do what feels right & comfortable to you.

Be kind. There are still people struggling to find their groove again. Not everyone is ready to jump back in, treat others with understanding.

With the holidays fast approaching, you guys all know how important my holiday menu is to me! I have tons of goodies planned, but one of my holiday staples is always a roasted veggie dish. Roasted veggies are super versatile, packed with nutrients, and just feel like holiday to me.

This holiday, I’m making garlic and herb roasted rainbow carrots & cauliflower. This dish is packed with flavour and super simple to make. The key ingredient to any roasted veggie recipe is a high quality olive oil. This year I’m using @o.liveandco which is an award winning 100% extra virgin olive oil, non-GMO, & certified carbon neutral. I picked up a big bottle at @igaqc and it’s giving this dish life!

Ingredients
• 1 medium head of cauliflower
• 12-15 rainbow carrots
• 2 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tbsp @o.liveandco olive oil
• 1 tsp ground black pepper
• 1 tsp granulated onion powder
• 1 tsp dried chives

Recipe
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside
3. Wash your cauliflower & cut into medium size pieces, discarding all the leaves and stem. Place in a large mixing bowl
4. Peel your carrots and trim off the ends, add the the mixing bowl
5. Toss your veggies with the olive oil and spices until everything is well coated
6. Lay your veggies out in a single layer on your baking tray
7. Bake for 20 minutes, then remove from the oven and toss your veggies
8. Bake for another 15-20 minutes until your veggies are crispy
9. Serve hot and enjoy!
