Maison Le Grand

One of the brands I was so excited to see last weekend at the Expo Manger Sante was Maison Le Grand. A few weeks before the expo I had seen their Super Greens soup at Costco, but had decided to leave it behind. Instantly regretting that decision once I had left, I figured I would just wait until my next Costco run to try it out. Luckily, I didn’t have to wait that long!

Their booth was set up right near the front of the expo, and they were giving out samples of their products to taste. Everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable about the product, which made the experience that much more enjoyable. They had each item set up in front of it’s respective sample so that it was easy to pick up the products to read through the nutritional info and ingredient lists.

I typically won’t buy a product until I’ve read the ingredients, and I’m always sold when you can pronounce all of the ingredients on that list. When there are words I don’t recognize or syllables that don’t seem to make sense together I tend to back away from whatever I was holding. It was nice that when I picked up one of the pouches of soup to take a peek at the ingredients even though the list looked long, it was all vegetables that I recognized, and none of those “vegetable product” statements. Only real vegetables like tomatoes, beans and squash (to name a few) made the list.

Last, but definitely not least, all of the Maison Le Grand products are gluten free, GMO free, no preservatives added, no sugar added, sulfite free and 100% organic. Most of the products they offer are also vegan, but they do sell Tzatziki and a 4 nut and cheese pesto that are made with dairy.

Clearly, I was sold.

I wanted to sample everything, but decided on 3 soups and a chili. They were giving away free pesto with all purchases, so I also got to take home the 4 nut and cheese pesto. So far, I’ve polished off the Super Greens soup and have gotten into the pesto. Both were delicious! What I was pleasantly surprised about in the Super Greens soup, was that despite being a puree, there were also full small pieces of carrots. I always like a bit of substance to my soups, so it was nice to find something to bite into.
